Kniepp facility “Sieba Brünna” on the Kristberg in Silbertal
Moving east from the summit station of the Montafon Kristbergbahn (1,450 m above sea level), you reach the newly constructed Kniepp facility Sieba Brünna after approx. 3 km. This offers true refreshment for the body, mind and soul, especially on hot summer days.
More than 100 years ago, the pastor Sebastian Kneipp (1821-1897) developed his comprehensive natural healing system, now known throughout the world. Based on a wealth of experience and knowledge drawn from folk medicine and monastic medicine, he revolutionised the healing methods of his day.
His holistic health approach orientated around a balance between body and spirit is based, alongside the water applications, on four additional columns: the use of healing plants, a healthy diet, sufficient exercise and inner balance.
When using the Kneipp pool, a few things should be kept in mind to ensure the desired success.
Treading water: Done properly, treading water should stimulate the circulation of the blood and make one less vulnerable to colds. Using the so-called “stork walk”, move through the walking pool for no longer than 30-60 seconds.
Arm bath: Immerse both arms in cold water for 15-30 seconds; the arm bath has a refreshing and calming effect and should help with heart conditions. These rules apply for both applications: do not use them if you have cold arms and legs, stop using them immediately if you have strong feelings of cold, only scrape the water off lightly after stopping and move your body immediately.
