The power of water in the Montafon

It is a pity that people think so little about the importance of water for life. In the Montafon that is not the case. Here, you can directly experience its power and beauty in the mountains around the Silvretta.

There, where water is snow and ice for many months of the year, the milky blue reservoirs are witness to the abundance of water in the Silvretta and provide people with electricity generated from hydropower. A new plant, the tremendous Obervermuntwerk II, is under construction between the two lakes, deep inside the mountains.

With the Illwerke team, Hansjörg Schwarz is ensuring that no trace of construction work will be seen once all the excavators, pipes and construction site provisions have disappeared.
