Before the packers of the Via Valtellina start their hike to follow the footsteps of the traditional traders experiencing the traditional alpine culture in all its diversity, we warmly welcome the group around Daniel Flühler to Gargellen. Meet the mule drivers and their guests on July 14, before the mule train sets off from Gargellen, over the Schlappinerjoch into the Prätigau, then over the 2,600 m high Scaletta Pass, through the Engadin and on over the Bernina Pass into the Puschlav to Tirano in Italy.
The Säumerfest in Gargellen should be a nice first evening for the traders, a successful start to their 9-day tour across the Alps and gives you the chance to meet the traders and their animals. Additionally you may learn more about the history of the Via Valltelina and the ancient wine traders.
Program:
from 5:00 p.m.: Short mule hike through or around Gargellen
from 7:00 p.m.: Gastronomic offer and supporting program at the valley station of the Gargellner Bergbahnen
